2011-12 Accidental Happening
Accidental Happening focuses on printing media, especially on the optical perception of automatic machines, using an old, slow but high-resolution Kodak Creo scanner to scan various small objects encountered accidentally in daily life and the special effects coincidentally obtained during scanning. For example, a drop of water evaporates and condenses on the mirror during the slow scanning process, an alien-like piece of chicken foot skin, a piece of melted solder, the bottom of an outdated Apple mouse, a piece of green onion stem, a seed, a dehydrated corn, a small piece of broken glass, a turned-on flashlight facing the scanner glass, which turns out to be colorful glitch caused by the strong light of the flashlight interfering with the CCD sensor, and a translucent armored pill bug under a bottle cap bring about dispersion when its crawling etc.
