Biography
Zong Cheng was born in Hangzhou in 1986. He is Lecturer in Photography at the Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, the Department of Photography, School of Art, where he has been in employment since 2016. He holds a MFA degree from the Department of Electronic Integrated Arts, New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and a MA degree in Humanities from the Department of Cinema and Media Studies and the Department of Art History, University of Chicago. He also holds his bachelor’s degree from the Department of New Media of Art, China Academy of Art. In terms of research interests, the author dedicated to researching and sorting out the history of image as well as the relationship between technology and art. Recently, he has been focusing on such creative method as confirming the content of an art project from experimenting with the matter and form. He is particularly interested in the ambiguity and randomness of the phenomenal world, as well as human sensations and empathy. Thus, he is exploring a unity that connects the material and the spirit in his artistic creation.
