2023 Entropy H10O
Photography has been a combination of science, technology and art since its invention. The creativity of early photography experimenter was mainly focused on studying the art of taking pictures. From the earliest surviving photo View from the Window at Le Gras (1826) by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, to William Henry Fox Talbot’s Calotype print Latticed Window at Lacock Abbey (1835), and then to Louis Jacques Mande Daguerre’s improved Daguerreotype monumental photo Boulevard du Temple(1838), while the technique of photography was professionalized and commercialized by camera and film manufacturers, it gradually became fixed and mature. Since then, photographer gradually turned to the exploration of photographic content and interior form, and evolved a variety of photographic themes. As part of Zong Cheng's research on material and form, Entropy H10O combines his interest in the creation of accidental happening images, guided by the experimental spirit of scientists and the artists’ spiritual realm of the feasible, desirable, accessible, and livable landscape in Song Dynasty, taking advantage of the color shift characteristic of biocompatible and aerospace metal- titanium when it is heated and oxidized by fire in react to the other chemical solution as my brush of nature to reveal the images of entropic changes and the wonders of nature. The latest pieces in 2023 improves the double-sided imaging visual effect based on the 2022 pieces.
