2011 Harmony1

This video installation is based on the sensitive and popular term "Harmony" in China today. It is also a pun with both musical meaning and political meaning. The homophonic of “和声“ is "和谐“, although they can be translated into one single word "Harmony" in English. I inspired from a Chinese idiom " Lan Yu Chong Shu 滥竽充数 “ which pointed out the dangers of "Social Loafing" . Three synchronized videos are displayed by three televisions. One or Two flutists pretend to play without make any sound.
